"I need to delegate more," said the Stag.
"It's much quicker to do it yourself," said the Rat.
"Is quicker better?" asked the Wren.

You know you should delegate more.
Your team is capable. You're overloaded. It makes rational sense.
But you do it yourself anyway.
Your instinct says it's quicker, and it is. You know how you want it done. You can get it right the first time. Teaching someone else takes longer, and you don't have the time to spare.
But what if quicker isn't better?
What if doing it yourself, again and again, keeps you stuck exactly where you are?
Every task you hold onto is energy you can't spend elsewhere. Every decision you make for others is a decision they don't learn to make themselves. Every time you choose speed over development, you're choosing control over capacity.
Quicker gets the task done. But it doesn't build the team. It doesn't free your time. It doesn't create the space for you to think, to lead, to do the work only you can do.
You're not protecting quality by doing it yourself. You're protecting control—and paying for it with exhaustion.
Is quicker better? Or is quicker just safer?
The River doesn't rush to reach the sea. It flows, and everything it needs to carry moves with it.
