Decisions

Decisions

“I’m scared to make a decision,” said the Stag
“Don’t then,” said the Rat
“What decision would you make if you weren't scared?” said the Wren

The River decided

You know the right decision. But you're not making it.

You're running scenarios.

What if it fails?
What if they judge you?
What if you're wrong?

The fear isn't about the decision itself; it's about what being wrong would mean about you.

So the Rat says: "Don't then." Stay safe. Don't risk exposure. Keep all your options open, which really means make no choice at all.

But not deciding IS a decision. And it costs you. The opportunity passes. The problem compounds. The version of you that could have tried never gets to exist.

The Wren asks: "What decision would you make if you weren't scared?"

Not "what's the safe choice?" Not "what looks best?" Just: what would you do if fear wasn't choosing for you?

You already know. You've always known. The fear just convinced you that knowing isn't enough, that you need certainty, permission, proof you won't fail.

The River doesn't wait for certainty. It just decides which way to flow.

What decision is fear making for you right now?
